Our high-quality oak stair cladding kits are a simple way to modernise and refresh your existing staircase.
These innovative products are quick and easy to install and can be added to almost any standard staircase
to give the impression of a solid oak staircase.
Combined with a new glass or oak balustrade, our oak stair cladding can truly make your staircase look brand new minus the inconvenience or expense of installing a new flight.
Find newel cladding, string cladding,
tread and riser cladding, plus other oak stair parts in our
online shop. We have everything you need to transform your existing staircase.
We recommend using oak faced apron lining
to clad your existing strings. You can cut the apron lining around the profile of the treads and risers on your internal
strings. We recommend using a hockey stick moulding to
finish the top of the string on the wall side and a cushion corner trim
to finish the underside on the seen face.
Do you offer newel post cladding kits for double posts?
We don’t offer a specific kit for double posts, however some customers have used our
oak newel cladding kits butted up to
each other to great effect. You may just need to trim them down in the width to fit.
What happens if my existing newel post is between the sizes that you sell?
We recommend that you select the next cladding size up, then you can pack out your post to the required size.
Can you clad a turned newel post?
Yes, you’ll just need to ensure that the cladding kit is securely fitted to the square part of the post as you won’t be able to glue the kit to the turned section.
How do you fit the newel cladding kits?
Our oak newel cladding kit comes in four pieces that connect together around the newel post. Using timber glue,
simply fix the pieces around the post then hold in position with clamps until the glue has set.
How many clamps should I use when fitting a newel cladding kit?
We recommend using a minimum of 3 clamps per cladding kit, although the more clamps you can use
the better to ensure a solid fix.
