Do you offer a measuring service?

We don’t offer an onsite measuring service, however you can find information about measuring for a glass balustrade on our website. You can then transfer the dimensions to our online Balustrade Designer tool to create your design. Our team are also extremely skilled at offering assistance over the phone and will be able to help you find the required measurements - we now offer a video call service to make the process even easier.

Do you offer diminishing glass panels?

Unfortunately, we are unable to supply diminishing glass panels – instead, we suggest making a template and taking this into a local glazier or glass company.

What specification is the glass that you offer? Does it comply with building regulations?

We offer 8mm toughened glass with polished edges. This is fully compliant to UK building regulations and comes with Kitemark certification.

Can I use Cheshire Pattern rails with glass?

Our Cheshire Pattern rails are specifically for spindles and therefore have a 32mm or 41mm groove. We offer Modern Choice rails for use with glass.

Can I use my existing rails?

If you’re able to remove your current spindles without damaging the rails, you could install our clamped glass system with your existing rails.

Do I need to put anything in the rails to hold the glass when using the embedded glass system?

We recommend applying a bead of clear silicone in the hand and base rails before placing the glass in to help prevent any vibration once the glass has been fitted.

Will my balustrade come with a railfix kit?

When buying a staircase we provide you with the number of railfix kits that you will need. However, when buying balustrade separately for a renovation, railfix kits are not included - you need to add them to your basket before checkout.

Do you send plugs to finish the newel posts?

When buying a staircase we provide you with the number of plugs that you will need. If you are placing an order for balustrade only, plugs are not included but are available on request.

Are glass stairs safe?

Both our embedded and clamped glass balustrade systems use 8mm toughened glass with polished edges. This is fully compliant to UK building regulations and comes with Kitemark certification.
